Report incorrect camera data
Camera programs change fast — cameras get added, moved, suspended, and school-zone hours get revised. If Beepr beeped where there's no camera, stayed silent where there is one, or has a zone's hours wrong, please tell us at data@getbeepr.com. Include:
- The nearest intersection or address (a maps link is perfect)
- What happened (no alert, wrong alert, wrong direction, wrong hours)
- Roughly when you drove through
Verified corrections ship in the next app update.
Alerts not working? Check these first
- Location is set to "Always." iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Beepr → Always, with Precise Location on. Android: Settings → Apps → Beepr → Permissions → Location → Allow all the time.
- The master switch is on. Open Beepr — the header should read "Monitoring active."
- Don't force-quit the app. Swiping Beepr away in the app switcher stops background monitoring until you reopen it (an operating-system rule, not ours). Just leave it be — it's designed to be forgotten.
- Android battery settings. Some phones (Samsung, Xiaomi, OnePlus) aggressively kill background apps. Set Beepr's battery usage to "Unrestricted."
- Volume and silent mode. Beeps play even on silent, but media volume must be up. In a car, confirm your phone is actually connected to the car's audio.
Permissions — what Beepr needs and why
- Location, "Always": the entire point of Beepr is alerting with the app closed and the phone locked. That's only possible with Always access. Your location is processed on your phone and never uploaded — see the Privacy policy.
- Notifications (optional): used only for the weekly "your highest-risk alert is off" reminder, if you ever disable warning 1. Beeps and vibrations don't need it.
Common questions
Why did Beepr beep where there's no camera?
Usually one of: the camera was recently removed or relocated, GPS drift near tall buildings, or a data error on our side. False positives can happen for any reason — please report the location to data@getbeepr.com so we can fix the database.
Why didn't Beepr beep at a camera?
Possible causes: the camera isn't in our database yet (programs evolve quickly), location was not set to Always, the app was force-quit, or the OS delayed background location. Report it and we'll investigate. Never rely on Beepr as your only reason to drive at the limit.
How do I delete my data?
Delete the app. Beepr stores everything (settings, camera database) on your device only, so uninstalling removes all of it. There's no account or server-side data to request or erase.
How do refunds work?
Purchases are processed by Apple and Google, so refunds go through them: Apple — reportaproblem.apple.com; Google — Play Store order history. We can't issue store refunds directly, but email us if something's wrong and we'll help.
What is Ticket Check?
Where available, Ticket Check lets you photograph an automated-enforcement citation so Beepr can extract its details and compare them with available public and other authoritative records. It reports what matches, what differs, what Beepr could not independently verify, and gives you a personal verification checklist for facts only you can confirm. Every important fact shows its source.
Is Ticket Check legal advice?
No. Beepr is not a law firm, does not provide legal advice, and does not determine whether your citation is valid, whether you have a defense, or what you should do. Ticket Check reports factual information only.
What does a "discrepancy" mean?
It means a detail on your citation does not match a published record — for example, the citation lists 2:17 PM and the published enforcement schedule starts at 2:30 PM. Beepr states the two figures and the difference. What that means legally, if anything, is a question for a licensed attorney.
What if Beepr can't verify something?
Then the report says so plainly. "Could not independently verify" means Beepr didn't find an authoritative record it could rely on for that fact and date — it does not mean the record doesn't exist. Items software can't determine (like whether signage was visible that day) go on your verification checklist, where anything you add is labeled as provided by you.
Can Beepr connect me with an attorney?
Where available, yes. If you want legal advice after reviewing your Ticket Check, Beepr can help connect you with a qualified attorney who handles this type of matter in your jurisdiction. You see exactly what information would be shared and nothing is sent until you confirm.
Does requesting an attorney create an attorney-client relationship?
No. Requesting an attorney connection through Beepr does not itself create an attorney-client relationship. Any attorney-client relationship is established directly between you and the attorney, subject to the attorney's own review and acceptance.
Who decides whether an attorney accepts my case?
The attorney. Participating attorneys are independent professionals who make their own conflict, eligibility, and acceptance decisions. Beepr does not guarantee that any attorney will accept a matter or achieve any outcome.
